Plus function selection
The Magellan NAV 1000 Plus is an improved version of the NAV 1000. It has a data output and it features a setup for customization. The units of measurement could be changed and eleven preprogrammed map datums were available. To make the data output possible the power jack was changed. The NAV 1000 Plus is a single channel sequential GPS-receiver. The auxiliary functions are called plus functions now. This change referred to the NAV 1000 Plus only, later GPS units had an aux-button again. Unusual for a consumer GPS unit is the possibility to disable the use of specific satellites manually. An interesting new feature is the waypoint projection by range and bearing. The NAV 1000 Plus was released in 1991, the list prize was 1.695,-$.
